I first met Erik at a massage conference in San Diego at the beginning of my massage career. I was very impressed with how he taught and the things he showed us at the conference. One day I decided to try some of his home study courses. They really opened my eyes by explaining not just the “hows” but the “whys” of what we do. I was impressed by the depth of the knowledge Erik shared and couldn’t wait to introduce what I had learned from the courses to my clients.
As suspected, they could feel immediate changes in their pain level and ROM…. definitely happy and unforgettable moments for me. The more I practiced, the more confident I became. Soon, all the personal trainers in the gym where I worked began sending their clients for sessions. Erik’s Costa Rica Retreat was another unforgettable experience. I was very impressed with the Freedom From Pain Institute teaching staff. They were very friendly and passionate therapists who were willing to take the time needed to make sure we understood all the material. The hands-on learning gave me a better understanding of how it feels to be on the receiving end of things, and I met a bunch of wonderful people from all over the world… so much fun being there, I’d love to go again.
After Costa Rica, I decided that I’d like to become a Master Myoskeletal Therapist and enhance my skill-set and the pandemic has allowed me time to study and finish the program. I know I have more to learn and will continue to study, but this program definitely helped me become a better therapist.
