My journey into massage & bodywork started with my love of movement practices & the embodied practice of yoga. I’m fascinated by the interconnected nature of the body’s systems, the body-mind connection & the power of attuned, therapeutic touch. I’m a Licensed Massage therapist and over the years, I’ve studied a range of therapeutic modalities including Thai massage, deep tissue, myofascial release & stretching therapies. I have a strong foundation in Ayurvedic medicine. I’m a Panchakarma (Ayurvedic Bodywork) therapist & a Nationally Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner. I love providing practical, hands-on solutions that help people correct deeper causes of imbalances, dysfunction & reconnect with well-being.

I first heard about Erik Dalton while I was still in massage school. As I learned more about MAT, I found that the precision & clinical reasoning in Erik’s approach really spoke to me. The ease & joy he embodied while doing bodywork inspire me. Applying these principles started to make my work much more effective. The more I learned & applied, the deeper I wanted to delve into understanding anatomy, physiology, the interconnection of the nervous & musculoskeletal systems.

With MAT, I have an excellent navigation system to identify deeper causes of pain and I can use effective techniques that bring reliable progress & longer lasting results. MAT goes beyond therapeutic massage in that it isn’t just about relieving tension & pain. Erik often said ‘Don’t chase the Pain’. Pain in one part of the body is often the result of imbalances elsewhere.

Integrating MAT into my practice has deepened my perception, streamlined & transformed my sessions. I love the clear assessments. The skills that I’ve learned in MAT workshops have brought in much nuance to my work & taken it to another level.

If you are a massage therapist who is interested in learning MAT or pursuing an MMT certification, I would say that MAT will elevate & refine your practice. Be patient with the learning process & with yourself. Even if you’ve been in practice for many years, MAT is not just advanced techniques or a magic pill, it is a different way of thinking.

Much of this work is about refining your observation, communication, palpation& subtlety. Keeping an open mind & a genuine desire to deepen your understanding of the body is invaluable. To me, it’s been one of the most enjoyable & rewarding educational experiences.
