I first came across Erik’s teachings around 2009, about 25 years after my Swedish massage training. I was so impressed with Erik’s instructional style and the quality of his educational videos that I bought his entire home study bundle and started from there. With a background as a manual therapy historian, I respect Erik’s homage to the greats who have influenced his approach to MMT and as a practitioner; I appreciate his own originality in how he brings together theoretical and practical knowledge from the osteopathic and pain science fields.
I love integrating Erik’s techniques into my Swedish massage sessions and find that his blending of biomechanics and neuroscience has greatly deepened my practical understanding of pain management. Myoskeletal techniques require my clients to be active participants in their therapy sessions and I find they enjoy the approach… even those that challenge them.
