I studied Laban Movement Analysis in college and later became a Pilates instructor. Wanting a deeper understanding of the body, I enrolled in massage school, but soon realized I needed a more detailed, biomechanical approach. That search led me to Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques after reading an article by Erik Dalton, which inspired me to attend a MAT workshop in Costa Rica.
MAT became a natural complement to my Pilates work. Its methodical, movement-based approach gives me exceptional clarity in how the body functions and allows me to translate precise MAT principles directly into Pilates cueing and exercise progression. My clients learn movement patterns more effectively, retain them longer, and experience lasting change, making my work both more impactful and sustainable.
I took my time learning and integrating MAT into my professional practice and completed my Master Myoskeletal Therapist certification over fourteen years. This allowed the depth of the material to fully integrate and inform my work with ease and confidence.
