I’ve always been fascinated by how the human body works and stays healthy. My first step was becoming a Medical Assistant in 2007 while studying nursing in community college. But as I navigated the medical field, I found myself frustrated with the system’s ties to insurance companies. I wanted a more natural way to help people heal.
A co-worker once asked, “Have you thought about becoming a massage therapist? You’re always helping us with body discomfort.” That simple comment sparked something in me. In 2016, I researched massage schools in Massachusetts, attended an orientation, and instantly fell in love. After graduating in 2017, I started helping people in my community instead of joining a clinic. Word spread quickly, and my practice grew. My goal has always been to help people move better, feel better, and get back to their lives.
Still, I felt something was missing. While my massages relieved pain, the results didn’t last long enough. I wanted to find a way to create lasting change. One day, while researching stretches and movement, I stumbled on Erik Dalton’s “Motion is Lotion” video on YouTube. His approach was exactly what I’d been searching for: “Don’t just chase pain—find its origin”. Prevent it altogether.
That’s when I dove into Erik Dalton’s MMT program. I purchased the foundational and advanced bundles, attended workshops with Nate Fay (an amazing and funny MAT instructor), and started applying these techniques with my clients. The results were incredible—more effective and longer-lasting relief!
At the Costa Rica MAT workshop in 2024, I had the privilege of meeting Erik Dalton in person and completing my MMT certification. It was a perfect mix of education and adventure. Becoming an MMT has been one of the most rewarding decisions of my life. As Erik says, “The truly educated never graduate,” and I fully embrace that mindset. I’m excited to keep learning from incredible instructors like Nate, Scott, Tammy, Kathleen, and Jane—and to travel the world while doing so!
