I’ve always been an energy healer, even as a child. In 2015, after undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer and caring for my two children, a toddler and a teenager, I needed a career that worked for all of us. One day, my oldest son invited me to get a free massage at a local massage school. I said, “Yes, please!” By the end of that day, I signed up for the program and started classes a month later.
From the beginning, I was fascinated by the body and hungry for knowledge. I constantly attended classes and courses, always looking for ways to help people live pain-free. I spent countless hours online, reading books and watching videos, many of them Erik Dalton’s, long before I even knew about the MMT certification. I’ve been following Erik’s work for more than 10 years! His videos on fascia, bones, and muscles, and the concept of working without oil completely hooked me.
I first encountered Erik’s techniques during massage school, when an instructor, who turned out to be part of Erik’s crew, demonstrated a few methods. They captured my attention immediately. Years later, I realized that what I had been searching for was right in front of me the whole time.
In 2020, I booked my first MAT workshop in Oklahoma, but then COVID hit. After the pandemic, I finally attended a live workshop with Erik, and it was amazing, not just for the learning, but for connecting with so many like-minded therapists. From that moment, I was hooked. I also began the MMT program, diving into online courses, books, and DVDs/USBs.
Meanwhile, in 2022, I achieved another milestone: I became an osteopath. Adding osteopathy and MAT to my skillset completely transformed my work. Today, I own two locations and help countless clients find lasting pain relief. There’s nothing more rewarding than spending 20 minutes with someone and completely taking them out of pain.
MAT has made my treatments more effective, less taxing on my body, and longer-lasting for my clients. One of the first things I do for every client is assess alignment and correct what’s causing their pain. These techniques are fast, specific, and easy to integrate into every session. I’m no longer exhausted after a day’s work, I can treat six to eight people and still have energy for my family.
MAT has not only improved my treatments but also my quality of life. If you’re considering it, my advice is simple: Do it! You’ll gain everything you’ve ever imagined, better results for your clients, less strain on your body, and the ability to keep doing what you love for years to come.
