I began my professional journey in 2018 after graduating from the Florida School of Massage as a Licensed Massage Therapist. Since then, I have continued to advance my education and clinical skillset, earning multiple advance certifications, and dual certifications as both a Licensed Massage Therapist and a Master Myoskeletal Therapist. I was first introduced to Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques when my business partner and I were looking to complete some live continuing education credits. We came across a local weekend MAT workshop taught by Tammy McCue and from the moment we stepped in, we were hooked. The workshop was incredibly engaging, with a strong emphasis on hands-on work and interactive movement. The material was not only informative but immediately applicable, giving us new insight into how the body responds to pain, compensation, and structural imbalance.
What I value most about Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques is the way they blend advanced therapeutic strategy with a deep understanding of human structure and movement. MAT goes beyond simply treating symptoms, it identifies and corrects the underlying muscular and postural patterns that contribute to pain and long-term deterioration. This makes the work both highly effective and truly transformative. Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques have completely transformed both the way I approach bodywork and the outcomes my clients experience. Before integrating MAT, my sessions were effective, but they were primarily focused on relieving symptoms. With MAT, I’m now able to identify and correct the underlying patterns, structural imbalances, compensations, inhibited movement patterns, and chronic tension that actually cause pain.
If you’re considering studying Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques or working toward your Master Myoskeletal Therapist (MMT) certification, my biggest piece of advice is simply: start. MAT is one of the most rewarding and transformative educational paths available in the bodywork field, and each course builds your confidence, understanding, and hands-on skill. The more you apply what you learn, the more you’ll understand how the techniques influence the body. Your clients will quickly notice the difference, and you’ll build more precise, confident hands.
