Achieving this certification, one of the highest standards for a massage professional, is no small feat. It takes a burning desire to get results for your clients and a great deal of commitment. You can read a little bit about his journey below. We know you’ll be in great hands when you book an appointment with Drew. For massage therapy in Baltimore, contact Drew. The links are below.
Having graduated from massage school in 2015 after deciding to make a career change, I knew I wanted to work in a clinical setting doing more work related to pain management and mobility instead of working in a spa environment. After doing some research, I found out about Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques in the summer of 2016 and immediately ordered the home study bundle. Due to my hectic schedule trying to get my business off the ground and life in general, I never had a chance to get started with Erik’s program until 2017. But once I started studying, I was hooked. After starting the online training, I slowly started to integrate MAT into my client/patient sessions. I was already a Fascial Stretch Therapist so clients that came to see me were coming in because I offered a different kind of bodywork experience than anyone else in my area. MAT was another tool in my toolbox and the effects were immediate. I noticed more and more people coming to see me for neck and shoulder pain. Most of these people had sought out more traditional massage and even physical therapy, but they weren’t seeing the results that they were hoping for. In 2018 I decided I wanted to go all the way with MAT and went to OKC for my first hands-on training with Erik. When I returned to my office, business just exploded. I was getting so many referrals from people because I did a very different style of bodywork and was getting amazing results. I slowly started implementing more MAT techniques for the back, hips and lower body and business continued to grow rapidly. This past December I was in Costa Rica for Erik’s Pain Relief in Paradise and because I have extra time on my hands now, I just recently finished the last of my online training. MAT has been a game changer for me and my clients/patients. I’m the first MMT in Maryland and MAT is probably integrated in some way in at least 75% of my sessions. I’m now the go to massage therapist in my area for pain relief, flexibility and mobility. I want to thank Erik and the Dalton Gang for this amazing body of work and the amazing learning experiences I’ve had. I’ve told so many of my massage therapy friends that they need to take Erik’s training. I look forward to many more trips to OKC and Costa Rica to continue to grow my skills, career and business and to hang out with Erik and his gang!
