I’m a former IT Project Manager who transitioned into massage therapy to pursue my passion for bodywork and movement after experiencing the physical impact of a sedentary, high-stress career. That background informs my holistic, assessment-driven approach to massage therapy.

I bring over 20 years of experience in dance, yoga, Pilates, and martial arts, and I’ve worked extensively with workers’ compensation clients and individuals recovering from surgery or trauma. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all treatment. My training in orthopedic assessment and osteopathic techniques allows me to tailor each session to the individual, helping clients better understand their bodies and move with greater ease.

I also own Botree Massage & Bodywork, including a nonprofit extension, Massage for a Cause. Community impact is central to my work, and I’m committed to lifelong learning and providing thoughtful, effective care.

During the pandemic, I discovered Erik Dalton’s Technique Tuesday content, which immediately resonated with me for its clarity, clinical reasoning, and focus on assessment. After applying MAT techniques, I saw noticeable improvements in my clients’ mobility and comfort and knew this approach aligned with how I wanted to work.

I’m vertically challenged and have fairly small hands, but MAT techniques allow me to deliver treatments that feel both deep and highly effective without relying on brute force. I especially appreciate the emphasis on body mechanics and efficiency—techniques like the log roll for the upper thigh, the trunk roll, and the Texas Twister have been complete game changers in my practice.

MAT has transformed how I assess and treat clients. The emphasis on biomechanics, efficiency, and smart body mechanics allows me to deliver deep, effective work without strain. I now evaluate each client as an interconnected system, helping identify movement patterns and long-standing issues that often go unrecognized. In my learning journey through the MAT courses, I would focus on one technique per week as a theme and invite client feedback. Clients love knowing I’m continually learning new ways to support their healing journey, and their insights have been invaluable in refining my approach.

I recommend taking an in-person workshop as soon as possible. I especially recommend the Costa Rica retreat week; it’s an incredible learning environment and a great way to connect with inspiring therapists from around the world.
