INSTRUCTORS
Erik Dalton
Erik Dalton is widely regarded as one of the foremost innovators in the massage and bodywork profession. He has studied with some of the professions leading thinkers, like Ida Rolf and famed osteopath Phillip Greenman. He is the developer of Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques®, a system of manual therapy that addresses and heals pain patterns at their very core. Armed with a comprehensive understanding of the intricate interplay between mind and body, structure and function, massage therapists who’ve studied Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques® with Erik Dalton are changing the face of chronic pain the world over.
Senior educator Tammy McCue has been a therapist for 20-plus years and was recently inducted into the Massage Therapy Hall of Fame. After a formal education in Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, and Massage Therapy, she became a Master Myoskeletal Therapist®. She recognized in MAT a unique approach to the body that allows her to treat underlying patterns rather than simply chase pain. She is spreading her love of MAT through sold-out classes across the country.
Nathan has been an LMT for nearly 20 years. He is the owner of Hazardville Wellness, a multi-practitioner wellness center in Connecticut. He loves working with clients using the ART of MAT to help them get better faster. Nathan is a Master Myoskeletal Therapist (MMT)®, MAT educator and holds a Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Therapy. He has been teaching internationally for the Freedom from Pain Institute since 2020. Nathan’s workshops are highly regarded with feedback from students like: "Nate's classes are very educational. He presents the material in an easy to understand way. He has a lighthearted sense of humor that makes his classes a lot of fun!"
Jane Detert has been a physical therapist assistant for 27 years and has been teaching massage for the past eight. This dedicated practitioner takes pride in helping clients, whether it is chronic back pain or helping an athlete perform at their optimal level. After studying MAT, getting her Master Myoskeletal Therapist (MMT)® certification and successfully implementing MAT in her personal practice, she is eager to share her knowledge and teach advanced techniques to other practitioners, whatever their background. She brings as much energy to the classroom as she does into her treatment room!
Scott Doss remembers attending his first Myoskeletal seminar and how it opened his eyes to a type of manual therapy that was specifically designed to assess and treat clients in an approachable, easy way; It changed his life and his practice. Now, as a Master Myoskeletal Therapist® and MAT educator, he dedicates his time to treating, educating, and encouraging clients presenting with a variety of injuries and pain patterns with enjoyment in one of his two locations in the Atlanta area.
Kathleen Benanti is a Master Myoskeletal Therapist (MMT)® and Certified Ergonomics Specialist (CES). Her formal education in research science provides her the unique ability to understand and incorporate current findings and best practices into workshops. Kathleen has a unique ability to break down and disseminate complex information into an easy to understand format. In addition, she feels the best learning environment should be fun, relaxed and never short of snacks and caffeine.
Clinton Merrifield: "I have a passion for massage and specialize in assessments, pain relief, and educating clients towards pain free movement. As a Master Myoskeletal Therapist®, I provide better health, well-being, and knowledge to clients through positive pain-relief therapies and movement training programs.” My three favorite words are “educate, educate, educate!” I am currently living in Germany and teaching MAT workshops in Europe.
