After twelve years as a military medic, transitioning to massage therapy was a natural and easy career progression for me. It allowed me to continue helping others while building on my foundational education and experience. Fast forward ten years, and I still can’t imagine a more rewarding and enjoyable profession.
Erik Dalton’s work had been on my radar since day one, but it wasn’t until I grew bored with other continuing education classes and frustrated with ineffective techniques that I decided to take the leap and invest in the Costa Rica workshop in 2022. Once there, I was blown away by how simply practicing with other students while learning new techniques improved my own hip pain, flexibility, and range of motion. I knew instantly that I wanted to pursue MMT certification to become a more dynamic practitioner and facilitate greater client outcomes.
MAT techniques are simple yet highly effective, brain-based methods that teach you a whole new way of approaching bodywork therapy.
Over the years, it had been frustrating to work with clients long term, only to hear they experienced minimal or short-term improvements in their pain and functionality. To finally have clients say they no longer have pain and now only require maintenance sessions is absolutely the most satisfying news.
The MAT family is a wonderful and supportive community of educators and lifelong students who are wholly dedicated to promoting and continuing the brilliant life’s work of Erik Dalton. Just take the leap and dive in. MAT work and MMT certification are among the best decisions you can make to further your education and effectiveness as a massage and bodywork therapist.
