Master Myoskeletal Therapist® Spotlight: Stephanie Sloan, MMT | Altamonte Springs, Florida

Stephanie Sloan’s path to massage therapy began after an accomplished career in public service but it was a personal health challenge that ultimately changed the course of her life.

After serving 23 years in the military and another five years in civil service, Stephanie found herself recovering from shoulder surgery for impingement syndrome while living in Germany. Experiencing the benefits of bodywork during rehabilitation inspired a new question: How could she help others heal through a more natural, holistic approach?

That question led her to massage school in 2018 at Sterling Health Center in Dallas, Texas. Even as a new student, Stephanie was already thinking beyond graduation. She wanted to build a career that would allow her to help others while remaining physically sustainable over the long term.

An opportunity arrived when she met therapists who introduced her to medical massage, eventually connecting her with educator TC Cameron. Through that mentorship, Stephanie discovered Erik Dalton’s Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques® (MAT) an educational experience that transformed the way she understood the human body.

Driven by a passion for learning, Stephanie continued expanding her skills through certifications in Ashiatsu, Sarga, and cupping. In 2019, she enrolled in her first Dalton online course, and in 2024 she attended her first live MAT workshop with instructor Tammy McCue.

“Tammy’s enthusiasm for Erik’s work was contagious,” Stephanie recalls. “I was immediately drawn to the precision of MAT and the way it connects the brain, bones, muscles, and movement into one complete picture.”

That systems based perspective reshaped her clinical approach. Rather than viewing pain as an isolated complaint, Stephanie learned to assess the body’s interconnected relationships and develop treatment strategies that address the underlying causes of dysfunction.

Earning her Master Myoskeletal Therapist® (MMT) certification has become one of the defining milestones of her career. The advanced training has given her greater confidence, refined her clinical decision making, and helped her work more efficiently while delivering meaningful results for clients.

“My clients love that MAT is massage with a purpose,” she says. “We’re working together to understand what’s happening in their bodies and create a plan toward lasting improvement.”

For massage therapists considering advanced education, Stephanie encourages taking the first step rather than waiting for the perfect time.

“The material is incredibly well organized, and the resources are always there when you need them,” she says. “Don’t let the amount of information intimidate you. Start your journey today you’ll keep building your knowledge and confidence throughout your career.”

Stephanie’s journey demonstrates that some of the most rewarding careers begin with a willingness to embrace change. By combining a lifelong commitment to service with advanced education through Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques®, she continues to help clients in Altamonte Springs, Florida move beyond pain and toward healthier, more active lives.

Congratulations to Stephanie Sloan on earning her Master Myoskeletal Therapist® certification and joining a community of therapists committed to advancing clinical excellence through Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques®.
