  • Master Myoskeletal Therapist Spotlight: Adrian Sanders, MMT | The Woodlands, Texas

After 30 years of practicing massage therapy, Adrian Sanders discovered that becoming a student again could be one of the most rewarding experiences of her career.

Based in The Woodlands, Texas, Adrian has spent three decades exploring the complexity of the human body and the relationships between movement, muscular function, and physical structure.

Early in her career, she recognized that massage therapy alone could not address every physical challenge. That realization led her to the CHEK Institute, where she studied Paul Chek’s approach to corrective exercise.

Combining massage therapy with movement education expanded her understanding of biomechanics and reinforced her interest in treating the body as an interconnected system.

Adrian later discovered Erik Dalton through Technique Tuesday videos on social media.

Impressed by Erik’s knowledge and teaching approach, she began experimenting with the techniques. However, she wanted to understand the anatomy and reasoning behind the movements.

She repeatedly considered attending a workshop but never had the opportunity to study with Erik in person before his passing.

That regret made pursuing Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques® (MAT) education especially meaningful.

At her first workshop, Adrian encountered an unexpected challenge.

After decades of assessing muscular tissue, she was learning to evaluate joint mechanics, structural relationships, and different end feels.

“It was fascinating to discover an entirely different dimension of palpation and assessment,” she recalls.

MAT expanded her approach beyond muscular tension to include the structural relationships influencing movement.

The response from clients has been encouraging. One client was so impressed with his sessions that he asked Adrian what the techniques were called so he could recommend the approach to a friend in another city.

For Adrian, that moment reinforced the value of continued learning.

As both a massage therapist and corrective exercise coach, she now incorporates MAT into her individualized approach to bodywork.

Her advice to other therapists reflects her own experience:

“Never lose your curiosity, and never stop being a student of the human body.”

Adrian earned her Master Myoskeletal Therapist® (MMT) certification on October 21, 2026.

Congratulations to Adrian Sanders on joining the Master Myoskeletal Therapist community. Her willingness to embrace new challenges after 30 years in massage therapy is a powerful example of lifelong professional growth.
