I’ve been doing massage for as long as I can remember. My mother’s spinal issues were extreme and everything that could have gone wrong with her did. I never knew my mom not be in pain and helplessly watched as doctors fed her pills until they eventually had to install a pain pump. Although she passed away at a young age, I remember trying to give her relief, even if it was just temporary.
So, 14 years ago I began my massage career and focused on chronic pain. Early on, I was introduced to a couple of modalities taught by Erik Dalton and I knew I had to learn more. I used those techniques I picked up from Erik’s blog for 12 years before life finally brought me to Freedom From Pain Institute to study.
Once I completed the first class, that was all it took. I bought the whole Master Myoskeletal certification package and set out on my journey. The more I learned, the more it drove me to learn more. I always felt I had the intuition of what best to do for a client, but Erik gave me the “why” and that helped bring clarity to all my work. As soon as I brought this new modality to my office, my practice took a 180° turn for the better.
There are a few people in Michigan who have taken classes from Erik and his excellent instructors, but I am the first to achieve my Master Myoskeletal Therapist certification and am so very proud of that. I do what I love and love what I do. My goal is to continue bringing positive and lasting changes to my clients while providing the long-term relief that the Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques program has to offer.
