In 2018, after an unfortunate fall which tore 3 of my rotator cuff muscles, I discovered Erik Dalton’s “Shoulder, Arm & Hand Pain Techniques”. The clarity and depth of the educational material, as well as the teaching and protocols therein had me immediately hooked! Having already studied with many excellent teachers and been in practice for over 30 years, finding Erik Dalton’s MAT technique courses was like coming home. I was really inspired by the in-depth coverage, introduction to new concepts, and recent research in the field of therapeutic bodywork and human potential. Therefore, I steadily and happily worked through the many Master Myoskeletal Therapist courses, utilizing the techniques to the delight of my “regular” clients while bringing more very happily satisfied clients into my practice. After the lockdown, I was able to begin taking in-person classes with Erik and his excellent “Dalton Gang” of highly-skilled instructors and teaching assistants. These proved to be among the best classes I have ever attended. In 2023, I was delighted to attend the 10th annual Oklahoma City “Leveling the Head and Tail” conference with 240 similarly enthusiastic Erik Dalton MAT devotees. I was honored to receive my ‘Master Myoskeletal Therapist’ diploma from Erik along with 24 other devoted therapists who had also completed the MMT coursework. I highly recommend Erik Dalton’s MAT curriculum for any manual or massage therapist, whether they are just starting out, or well established. These will undoubtedly be very useful perspectives and protocols that provide better outcomes for them and their clients. One final highlight of this new-found journey is all the wonderful new therapist friends I have met along the way…. great group! Many thanks to Erik Dalton and his Gang for the excellent courses and constantly updated research and technique tips he regularly disseminates in his “Technique Tuesday” newsletters and blogs.
