I was first drawn to MAT while seeking training to help me better understand the pelvis and decided to start with the Lower Body course. As I skimmed through the Dynamic Body textbook and videos, I was surprised and delighted to discover Erik Dalton’s courses included not just technique, but a treasure chest of knowledge in biomechanics, posture, gait, and physiology.
I continued my MAT education by practicing the techniques, integrating them into my practice, and completed the online courses… and live event. In 2019 I was fortunate to have the opportunity to train with Erik Dalton at his “Pain Relief in Paradise” Costa Rica retreat. Then a few years later, in 2022, I completed my Master Myoskeletal Therapist (MMT) certification.
Completing the MMT program has helped me develop valuable skills and a better understanding of the relationship between movement, posture, and pain. I’m now able to assess and treat muscle and joint problems and relieve the protective spasm.
I “bookend” all my bodywork sessions by assessing my work before and after so my clients feel the progress. I end my sessions with movement integration and home retraining exercises to help my clients maintain the positive effects of MAT. My clients are delighted when they experience improved range of motion and a reduction in pain.
