If you’re looking for massage therapy in Alexandria, Rudolph “Rudy” Munoz is the massage therapist to see. In 2002, Rudy got their Master Myoskeletal Therapist (MMT) certification. It’s a big step up from being a standard licensed massage therapist and requires a great deal of drive to achieve. We’re pleased that he made that commitment and impressed with the results she gets with clients. Below is his story in his own words. This talented therapist can help you with all kinds of musculoskeletal conditions, including headaches, rotator cuff problems, sports injuries, and more. I’ve been a massage and bodywork therapist for 21 years and my during my first post-graduate workshop in Maryland in 1999, James Waslaski was telling us to check out Erik Dalton’s Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques. So, in 2002 I attended Erik’s Costa Rica “Pain Management in Paradise Retreat” and was immediately taken with his “systems” approach for dealing with people in chronic pain. When I returned home to Virginia, I began implementing Erik’s assessment and treatment protocols and was amazed at how much easier it was for me to get my clients moving better, feeling better, and standing taller.
Over the years, I’ve been able to help people with problems ranging from sciatica, neck pain, rotator cuff, and carpal tunnel, to hip adhesions, scoliosis, and foot and ankle injuries. Currently, I work with a lot of older people and I’ve found Myoskeletal therapy extremely helpful in improving my elderly client’s balance, body awareness and overall nervous system functioning, while relieving their aches and pains. I love to see those smiling faces as they leave my office and I appreciate all the referrals they send my way.
In 2002 I became a teaching assistant for Erik and an official member of the Dalton Gang. They are all like family to me and I am proud to be part of that group and the entire MMT community! Thank you!
