I started my bodywork journey at a young age when I became the designated person for giving massages in my family. I decided to enroll in massage school after moving to Oregon in 2006. It quickly became my passion and I started my own practice in 2012. I was first introduced to Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques in 2015 when ABMP was hosting Erik on a webinar titled “Solving Today’s Pain and Injury Puzzle.” That presentation inspired me to learn more but life circumstances and a pandemic got in the way. Years later, a class was available locally and it re-sparked my interest. I immediately began a deep dive into the Master Myoskeletal Therapist certification courses and when finished I headed to Costa Rica for Erik’s “Pain Relief in Paradise” retreat and received my diploma at this fabulous event. The incorporation of MAT techniques into my practice has been amazing. Clients consistently express their gratitude, noting superior relief compared to other modalities of bodywork. My advice for anyone interested in pursuing MAT or becoming a Master Myoskeletal Therapist is to get started! Practice the techniques as you go and try to make it to the Pain Relief in Paradise Retreat.
