If you’re looking for massage therapy in Westerville, OH, Leah Joly is the massage therapist to see. Leah completed her Master Myoskeletal Therapist (MMT) certification in 2020. For massage therapy professionals, it’s one of the most highly regarded certifications that a massage therapist can receive. It’s a rigorous process, and few therapists get to use the designation. Below is Leah’s story in her own words.
I received my massage license in February 2011. After a few years of trying to better my knowledge and perfect my technique, I attended a Myoskeletal workshop in Columbus, Ohio taught by David Clinger. By the end of the 2-day workshop, I was hooked and decided to purchase the Advanced Myoskeletal Home Study Bundle. The assessment and treatment techniques presented in these courses have been tremendously helpful and surprisingly easy to integrate into my massage practice.
For personal reasons, I took a break from massage therapy for 6 years and mildly ‘forgot’ about a couple of my unfinished courses. But when the world shut down in 2020, it offered me plenty of time to finish all Master Myoskeletal Therapist coursework, and my love for helping people with their aching bodies returned. Since then, I finished 50 hours of in person training and my practice has really blossomed. My clients come back not just for massage, but also for effective myoskeletal alignment therapy and they claim their livelihood has improved because of the MAT work. My practice is forever changed because of Erik Dalton and his teachings. Thanks Erik and all the Dalton Gang for your inspiration!
