I’ve always been drawn to healthcare. I first decided to go to nursing school, but as I neared the end of that program, I realized that while nursing is a worthwhile profession, I personally wanted a more hands-on approach to treatment with more focus on preventative care. I wanted to help people with their health in a way that could possibly keep them from the need for surgical intervention. While exploring other options, I came across a massage therapy school and began my journey of therapeutic bodywork. After completing the massage program and beginning my career as a Licensed Massage Therapist, I was not satisfied with only helping people relax with a good massage. I wanted to make a more significant impact, and I began searching for ways that I could increase my knowledge and skill to better help my clients. Constantly learning and improving is something I strive for. I want to continually grow and evolve as a therapist. In this pursuit, I found that Erik Dalton’s Myoskeletal Alignment work resonated with me. I loved the idea of helping people dealing with chronic discomfort and pain find relief and healing by guiding the body into a functioning balance. I decided that I needed to learn as much as I could about this bodywork system and started a deep dive into Erik’s courses. Completing my master’s certification in Myoskeletal Alignment has forever changed the way I see and approach my work. Having excellent technique is all well and good, but knowing how and when to intelligently apply it is something that becoming a Master Myoskeletal Therapist has greatly influenced. I can’t wait to continue my work as a MMT and am excited about deepening my understanding as I apply this incredible bodywork system!
