Achieving this certification, one of the highest standards for a massage professional, is not easy. It takes a burning desire to get results for your clients and a great deal of commitment. Below is his story in his own words. This talented therapist can help you with all kinds of musculoskeletal conditions, including headaches, rotator cuff problems, sports injuries, and more. I graduated from CCMT in 2016 and worked part-time as an LMT at the Jewish Community Center. After recently retiring from Sikorsky Aircraft, I’ve stepped into massage therapy full-time. Along the way, I’ve taken orthopedic massage classes with James Waslaski and earned my Master Myoskeletal Therapist (MMT) certification through the Freedom From Pain Institute.
I was first introduced to MAT by Tammy McCue during a hands-on workshop in New York. That experience sparked my interest, and I continued my MAT journey at a workshop with Nate Fay. With some encouragement from my good friend and fellow MMT, Dave Gassner, I completed the online courses to finish the full certification.
What I love most about MAT is that the techniques are gentle on the practitioner—after hours of hands-on work, I still feel great. The results for clients are just as impressive: improved range of motion, less pain, and a real sense of relief after each session.
MAT is now the foundation of my practice. My clients love how they feel after a session—it’s pain-free and helps them move through life with greater ease.
If you’re considering this path, go for it. The training is truly worth it, and the community is incredibly supportive. It’s been life-changing to be part of the Dalton Gang.
