I love helping people restore mobility and strength so they can continue to do the things they love. I was first drawn to MAT seeking a deeper understanding of the pelvis, so I stared with the Lower Body course. As I skimmed through the Dynamic Body textbook and accompanying videos, I was surprised and delighted to discover that Erik’s courses included not just technique, but a treasure chest of knowledge on biomechanics, posture, gait, and physiology. The Master Myoskeletal Therapist program has helped me develop a better understanding of the relationship of movement, posture, and pain. I’m now better able to assess and treat soft tissues that were restricting joint motion and creating weakness. I now “bookend” all bodywork sessions by assessing my work before and after so I can appreciate the improved freedom of movement and reductions in pain. My sessions end with movement integration and home retraining exercises to maintain the improvements gained from the hands-on work and my clients are delighted. In 2019, I was fortunate to be able to train directly with Erik at his “Pain Relief in Paradise” Costa Rica retreat, and in 2022 I achieved my Master Myoskeletal Certification. I maintain a thriving private practice in Roanoke, Virginia and am proud to be a MMT.
