If you’re looking for massage therapy in Tamarac, Charlotte Beal is the massage therapist to see. We’re delighted that she decided to pursue certification as a Master Myoskeletal Therapist (MMT). Achieving this certification, one of the highest standards for a massage professional, is not easy. It takes a burning desire to get results for your clients and a great deal of commitment. Below is her story in her own words. This talented therapist can help you with all kinds of musculoskeletal issues, including headaches, rotator cuff problems, sports injuries, and more. I’ve always wanted a career where I could help people heal. While my original plan to become a pharmacist didn’t work out (chemistry and I didn’t quite click), I found my passion in massage therapy. I trained at the Florida Institute for Massage Therapy and Aesthetics in 1995, started my practice in 1996, and have worked in spas, with chiropractors, and with private clients ever since. I still love what I do and feel lucky to help people every day.
In 2009, a colleague recommended a seminar with Erik Dalton, describing it as both fun and insightful. That first seminar introduced me to the “Dirty Dozen” techniques, and I was hooked. By 2011, I attended my second seminar and began incorporating these techniques into my practice with great results.
In 2023, injuries sidelined me for six months, but I used that time to complete the 10 courses for MMT certification. MAT techniques have since transformed my approach. They’re gentler on my body than deep tissue work, and clients report better, longer-lasting results, including reduced pain, improved range of motion, and greater overall function.
If you’re curious about MAT, I recommend starting with a hands-on seminar. Feeling the techniques for yourself and seeing the results firsthand makes it easier to integrate them into your practice.
