Jinita Hayes has been working as a massage therapist in Lovington since 2015. We’re delighted that she decided to pursue certification as a Master Myoskeletal Therapist (MMT). Achieving this certification, one of the highest standards for a massage professional, is not easy. It takes a burning desire to get results for your clients and a great deal of commitment. You can find out more about her below. She can help you resolve pain problems that many other allied health professions struggle with, including back pain, injuries, and headaches. If you’re looking for massage therapy in Lovington, give Jinita a call.
My interest in manual therapy began while seeking noninvasive and holistic ways to treat injuries I’d incurred from forty years of rodeoing and horse training. After experiencing much needed relief from a manual therapist, I became interested in pursuing the career myself. I was a horsemanship instructor and could see manual therapy greatly benefiting the rodeo community and their horses. My students often requested help with behavior issues caused from lack of balance, pain and restrictions in both horse and rider. My initial plan was to achieve human and equine certifications to become a more effective instructor. Happy horse, happy human! Or is it happy human, happy horse?!
I begin massage school in 2015 fully intending to continue straight on to an equine certification. After receiving my ‘human’ massage license, I realized my journey had only begun. I needed to learn to work smarter, not stronger especially if I continued into the equine industry.
Searching for deep muscle information led me to Art Riggs’ ‘Deep Tissue Massage’, which was very helpful, and from there to Erik’s program. I put my equine certification on hold while working through the Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques program. My business grew substantially as clients began experiencing amazing results from the MAT techniques I was learning. Their feedback encouraged me to pursue a MMT certification. I am blessed to be in their lives and be able to help them by incorporating this effective and powerful program.
Will I carry on with my equine certification? I’m not sure. The need certainly remains but my clients keep me too busy to continue instructing. These days, I’m enjoying a controlled environment and have no concern of being kicked, bitten or struck. At least not so far! I am grateful to Erik Dalton, Ph.D. for developing such a unique and comprehensive program. Thank you, Kim Miller and the teaching assistants, for the support and encouragement. I’m honored to be an MMT and look forward to continuing my Myoskeletal education while working with therapists dedicated to helping clients live better lives.
