I’m from New Orleans and have been a licensed massage therapist for over ten years. I began my career in a spa setting, focusing on relaxation and general wellness. I always wanted to work more with athletes and provide bodywork that addresses pain, movement, and function. As my interest in body patterns and postural alignment grew, I sought out more corrective and therapeutic approaches. This eventually led me to MAT.

I discovered Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques while searching for a more effective way to help clients with chronic pain, postural issues, and performance concerns. Erik Dalton’s approach stood out because it connects anatomy, movement, and the nervous system in a clear and practical way. MAT allows me to address underlying movement patterns and structural imbalances rather than just treating isolated areas of pain.

What I love most about MAT is how it helps the body find balance in a natural and intentional way. It is not just about easing pain, but about understanding how everything works together through muscles, movement, and alignment. It is a holistic practice that supports healing from the inside out and helps people reconnect with their bodies and feel renewed. It is also versatile and can be applied in both corrective and relaxation sessions, allowing clients to actively participate in their own healing while achieving noticeable improvements in mobility, alignment, and comfort.

MAT has transformed the way I assess and treat clients. I can identify movement restrictions, postural imbalances, and compensatory patterns more clearly and address them effectively. At Elysian Wellness, I integrate therapeutic massage, red light therapy, and other supportive tools alongside MAT to help clients achieve better alignment, improved movement, and lasting relief. My sessions are more intentional, and clients experience results that were not possible with traditional massage alone.

MAT is a valuable and transformative path for any massage therapist. It challenges you to see the body as a system and to approach pain and dysfunction differently. Committing to the coursework requires focus and dedication, but it is deeply rewarding. My journey began just two weeks after my sister passed, and staying committed during that difficult time gave me strength, purpose, and resilience. I would encourage anyone interested in MAT to approach it with curiosity, dedication, and heart, as it will not only elevate your practice, but also change the way you understand and support healing.
