Bodywork helped me overcome a hip injury that I had suffered in high school, so I knew when I started massage school that I wanted to focus more on clinical and sports related therapies. For about 2 years after graduating massage school, I searched for modalities and bodywork approaches that would help me grow my pain and injury skill-set. I was honestly disappointed until I came across an article by Erik in Massage Magazine where he covered not only the techniques, but also the thought process behind the techniques. After buying the first video set for upper cross syndrome, I was hooked. I found I was able to speed along the recovery of patients we were seeing in the clinic where I worked at the time. The Myoskeletal Alignment approach has revolutionized my practice and life. It has not only enabled me to excel in the pain management arena, but I have also been able to help athletes and active individuals get back to and continue doing what they enjoy. I have been able to provide for them what I did not have when I was an athlete sidelined due to injury. When I first met Erik at a workshop in Myrtle Beach, Florida, he introduced me to the world of osteopathy, which eventually led to me pursuing a dream I didn’t know I had, or even thought possible, which is to be a doctor of osteopathic medicine (D.O.).
