Hello! I’m Kathleen Benanti, LMT, MTI, Master Myoskeletal Therapist (MMT) and Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist (CEAS). I own Integrated Sports Therapies and Integrated Therapies Institute in Dallas, TX. I specialize in treating endurance athletes as well as addressing injury and pain resulting from poor workspace ergonomics.

Many moons ago I was a PhD candidate in sociology with a plan to remain in academics. When I realized my passion for education was stronger than my desire to manage the politics of higher learning, I made a radical decision to change course and become a Manual Therapist. This move afforded me the opportunity to both forge my own path and continue lifelong educational pursuits.

I began my training with Erik Dalton in 2004 and haven’t missed a year yet! I was instantly hooked by Mr. Dalton’s profound ability to disseminate and incorporate complex information into an easy to understand and implement format. Though I utilize many different techniques, Myoskeletal Alignment is the cornerstone of my practice. For example, given that I address many cyclists with shoulder issues, I find the combination of MAT approaches to shoulder decompression, posterior scalene release, sternoclavicular joint mobilization and nerve glide and stretch techniques to be the most effective path to pain relief and rehabilitation. On the other hand, if the client presents with neck dysfunction due to poor workstation ergonomics my Myoskeletal approach will include decompression, side bending and translation of the cervical vertebrae along with Occipitoatlantal and atlas-axis mobilization. These are just two examples of the multitude of MAT techniques I use on a regular basis to afford my clients the opportunity to return to pain free sport, work and life.

In my spare time, I can be found gaming, gardening, cycling and cuddling with my three dogs, Rosalita Shenanigan, Gertrude Stein and Homer Gus.
