International Students: MMT Certification Requirements

We’re proud to have therapists around the world working toward Master Myoskeletal Therapist (MMT)® certification.

We also understand that access to in-person training can be more limited outside of North America. To make certification more achievable while maintaining the integrity of hands-on learning, we’ve created a flexible pathway for international students.

Certification Overview

To earn your MMT certification, you must complete:

  • 160 CE hours of required MAT coursework
  • 30 CE hours of additional training

For international students, those 30 hours can be completed through a combination of hands-on workshops and approved supplementary courses.

Step 1: Complete Your Core Coursework

You must first complete the 160 CE hours included in the Complete MAT Library, which forms the foundation of your training.

Step 2: Complete 30 CE Hours of Additional Training

We strongly encourage you to complete all 30 hours through hands-on, in-person workshops whenever possible.

Preferred Option: Full Hands-On Training (30 CE Hours)

The most direct path is to complete all 30 hours in person:

  • Attend the Costa Rica Workshop (30 CE hours)
This single event fulfills the entire requirement and provides an immersive, hands-on learning experience.

We also offer select workshops in Europe and Australia throughout the year. View all workshop options: https://erikdalton.com/workshops

Alternative Option: Blended Path (Workshops + Online Study)

If attending 30 hours of in-person training is not feasible, you may complete a blended combination of hands-on training and supplementary courses.

Requirements:

  • Attend at least one in-person workshop (minimum 16 CE hours)
  • Complete the remaining hours using approved online or home study courses to reach a total of 30 CE hours

You may use the following courses to complete your remaining hours:

This structure allows you to complete your certification in a way that works for your location and schedule, while still ensuring you gain essential hands-on experience. If you’re unsure which path is best for you, contact us and we’ll be happy to help you plan your certification journey.
