Day 1: Paul begins with a workshop overview including relevant research from Erik Dalton’s “Dynamic Body” textbook. A video and powerpoint presentation explains how painful neck, shoulder, TMJ, and scoliotic patterns develop due to compensations known as “Descending Syndromes.” Assessment and treatment sessions teach participants how to correct these ‘top-down’ compensatory strain patterns and get the client out of pain.

Day 2: Low backs, SI joints, hip capsules, legs and feet are the focus today. Paul begins with a full-body “Ascending Syndrome’ functional assessment to help identify weak “key” links in the kinetic chain. Once length-strength muscle imbalances are located, corrective treatment strategies help rid the body of protective spasm, joint blockage and painful myofascial compensations. Home retraining and therapist self-care exercises are highlighted in this special section.
