Erik Dalton, is one of the most respected massage educators in the profession today. Starting as a Doctor of Clinical Psychology, he discovered the world of massage and bodywork and studied personally with icons of the profession, including Ida Rolf and Phillip Greenman, one of the foremost osteopaths of the 20th century. From his unique background he developed Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques which he has been practicing and teaching for more than 30 years. More info.
The Myoskeletal Alignment Technique (MAT) system brings together the most advanced therapeutic strategies to relieve, and ultimately correct, patterns in the body that lead to pain and deterioration. With MAT therapy, clients can be free from pain, avoiding invasive surgery and toxic pain medications. Practitioners build a loyal clientele and lucrative businesses. More info.
You can learn Myoskeletal Alignment Techniques through workshops, home study (DVDs and manuals), and online courses.
Courses are standalone and can be taken in any order. All courses count towards your requirements for certification as a Master Myoskeletal Therapist (MMT). Certification is an exclusive designation that represents the highest level of expertise in MAT and is one of the most highly regarded designations in the profession.
The courses are divided into two broad categories:

- Advanced courses for those who are familiar with the basic principles of MAT and want to expand their knowledge
Foundational courses include…
- Posture, Pain, & Performance (20 CEs)
- Upper Body (22 CEs)
- Lower Body (32 CEs)
